This is my 16th year of creating Hooters Owl Calendars, and the 12th year posting them online - we've come a long way since our first posted Hooters owl calendar. The first calendars were created as 'Hooters Calendars', a play-on-words for those who might mistake our calendar for another 'Hooters' brand product - and of course it fit well with my humour site joe-ks.com (pronounced 'jokes' but spelled with my first name). Seven years ago, my son Joel, asked if I could tie in the Hooters Calendars with a local owl rehabilitation organization (Owl Canada, in Delta, B.C.).
Since then I've improved the owl calendar design, and started using hi-res owl pictures, donated initially by Owl Canada, and now donated from many owl rehab centers and generous individuals around the world. And to clear up any confusion related to the 'other brand', I started creating the calendars as "Hooters Owl Calendars".
Sales of the hi-res calendars initially included pdf file and laminated sheet options, and for a few years I produced full size 11" x 17" poster calendars (no longer available due to high printing and mailing costs). Increased popularity allowed me to expand into owls from around the world, resulting in an 'extra' Brazil Owls calendar offered in 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017. And in 2017 I've produced our first "Birds of Prey" calendar.
In 2011 my Hooters Owl Calendar was quoted by mentalfloss.com as being in the "Ten Odd and Awesome 2011 Calendars", and coincidentally, also in 2011, my joe-ks.com site was voted Readers Choice Best Humor Site on the Internet by ask.com (a New York Times subsidiary). Stay tuned for exciting products from joe-ks.com appearing here in the near future...
My other website (sujoku.com) was created in 2005, shortly after my first Guinness World Record (longest solo handbell marathon in July 2005). At that time, sudoku was just starting to gain popularity - and I was 'hooked' on the game of sudoku! So much so that I created the world's longest sudoku puzzle (604 diagonally-chained puzzles) and used it, in a gigantic roll, during my second Guinness World Record (longest solo sudoku puzzle marathon in July 2006). Today there are 32 different Themes of free sudoku puzzles, with 12 difficulty levels on my sujoku site - including my world-first 3D and 6D sujoCube (2015) puzzles.
In 2009 I was approached by Ron Shore, who asked me if I could create a totally unique sudoku puzzle, for him to use in his World's Greatest Treasure Hunt (a fundraiser dedicated towards research and finding a cure for breast cancer). For Ron, I created the world's 1st truly 3D Sudoku puzzle, now used as an integral part of this Treasure Hunt.
This is the third year we're using a Shopping Cart which will give you a choice of many payment methods (i.e. you don't have to solely use PayPal which we've used in prior years). And by popular demand, we've brought back the famous Brazil Owl Calendar, as well as the usual North American Owl Calendar, and, for the first time a Birds of Prey Calendar - all three available in either pdf file or laminated sheet quantities (and yes - now you can order multiple units!).
Order Delivery Details for Owl Calendars: If you select the 'pdf file' option, once payment is confirmed an email will be automatically sent to you (to the email address you supply) - in that email is a link to download the pdf file. If you choose the 'laminated 8 1/2" by 11" sheet option, the laminated sheet will be sent to you by mail within 3 business days - to the address that you supply. Shortly after I have received confirmation of payment, I will send you a personal note of thanks which will include the details about the species of the owls (or birds of prey) used in the calendars you purchased.
A portion of the proceeds from owl calendar sales and owl picture sales goes toward promotion and support of owl rehab centers around the world.

Thanks for giving a hoot!
